Glossary

The terminology used by SyCes2 is explained below. Further information about each object will soon be available on the respective wiki pages.

Word Description
Provider Provider that grants the tenant access and use of SyCes2. Provider that grants the tenant access and use of SyCes2. The only provider currently available is Concat AG.
Tenant SyCes2 customer who has locations where Wi-Fi is available for visitors (see Account). In order to use SyCes, tenants must purchase licenses from a provider.
User User account that can log in to the SyCes2 website. Can view/create/edit/delete accounts, locations and other objects, depending on the user level. Some pages of the website and some fields are only available to users with a certain user level.
Location Location of a tenant where Wi-Fi is made available to visitors. Wi-Fi access condition settings can be configured for a location.
Rate Provides information about costs and limitations for account access to Wi-Fi. When creating a tenant, a standard rate is created (free and unlimited).
Account An account is required for Wi-Fi access at the tenant's location. This account can either already exist or can be created in the self-service portal. Depending on the type of account creation, an account has a different source.
Voucher Group of accounts created at the same time. Voucher accounts cannot be edited or deleted individually. A list of account credentials can be downloaded from the voucher page.
License The tenant purchases licenses to activate Wi-Fi usage for its locations. Depending on the tenants's license type, licensing is based on the number of accounts (user license, unlimited number of locations) or per location (location license, unlimited number of accounts).
Template Wi-Fi login page/self-service portal configuration. A template must be selected for a location. When creating a tenant, a standard template is created (anonymous registration).
Self-service portal Wi-Fi login page where visitors can create an account themselves. The page is rendered according to the template configuration.
